Kerala Fish Curry — known as 'Meen Curry' in Malayalam — is the soul of Kerala's coastal cooking. What distinguishes it from other regional fish curries is the use of Kudampuli (Garcinia cambogia, also known as Gamboge or fish tamarind), which gives it a unique sour-fruity tanginess unlike any other souring agent. At Kerala Palace Restaurant, we prepare our Fish Curry with this traditional souring element, along with freshly ground coconut, roasted spices, and plenty of curry leaves.
Our Fish Curry is slow-cooked in a traditional clay manchatti pot, which regulates heat evenly and enhances the earthy flavour of the curry.
