The Kerala Meal — or 'Onam Sadya' in its grandest festival form — is one of India's most elaborate and celebrated vegetarian feasts. Served on a fresh banana leaf with a precise cultural etiquette, a proper Kerala Meal includes dozens of small dishes arranged in a specific order on the leaf. At Kerala Palace Restaurant, our everyday Kerala Meals honour this tradition with a curated selection of dishes prepared fresh daily.

A typical Kerala Meals plate at Kerala Palace includes Kerala red rice, Sambar, Rasam, Avial (mixed vegetable curry with coconut), Thoran (stir-fried vegetables with coconut), Olan (ash gourd in coconut milk), Pachadi, Pickle, Papadum, Banana chips, and a dessert Payasam. Non-vegetarian side dishes including Fish Curry, Chicken Roast, or Beef Fry can be added. It is the most complete expression of Kerala's food culture available in Calgary.
